In the fall of 2018, the student council for spatial planning called for an exhibition for the degree program. The basic idea was to showcase the diversity of spatial planning by presenting student projects, as has long been the practice in many other planning-specific degree programs in German-speaking countries. This led to the very first spatial planning exhibition at TU Wien in 2019: dieRaum.

It took place from October 1st to 4th, 2019, in the old WU building, and the accompanying program invited participation and engagement: guided tours, a film evening, a panel discussion, and external events such as a tour of the Spittelau waste incineration plant or Jane’s Walkman Althangrund offered unusual insights into the motivations, challenges, and approaches of spatial planning practice.
